The NBA announced that it has suspended Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo for 10 games for violating the the league’s anti-drug program. According to the league, Mayo tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone, commonly referred to as DHEA. This is the same substance that former Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis tested positive for last season.
Mayo’s suspension will begin Friday night when the Grizzlies play the Philadelphia 76ers and last through Feb. 13. It’s been a tough season for Mayo who earlier was involved in a fight with former Celtic guard Tony Allen on the team plane over a card game debt.
